@sbinfi : No it is not, sir; this was a commissioned soundtrack. To be completely honest I came at this through The Cinematic Orchestra, and have been remiss in researching Dziga Vertov’s work in its original form more fully, though I did get ahold of both this film (with TCO’s score) and the 1931 film, “Enthusiasm,” in their entirety. “Enthusiasm” has a variety of traditional Russian music, as well as speech, so it’s possible that TMWTMC did as well.
