In 2001, I finished my thesis for FSU, “False Prophecies,” which was (loosely) a 12-tone piece for this same ensemble. But there were 2 complete, and one partial movement I had cut from False Prophesies which I really did not want to part with, so in about 2005, I began composing another piece around the two cut movements. This is the first movement to my Suite for Brass Quintet, Piano, and Percussion. The paintings are by my good friend Jeff Garabadian. The one photo is a close-up of a work by another artist I correspond with. Contact me for more information about the art or my music.
