Slipknot- Duality Original Custom Percussion Cover

Written on July 29th, 2010 by larryno shouts

Duality Slipknot Vol. 3: The Subliminal Verses ROADRUNENR Records This is a cover of this fucking kickass song on my custom percussion set. What makes it “custom” is the loosened toms (VERY loosened), the crash cymbal is below a hi-hat on the hi-hat rod, and the bottom hi-hat is on its own rod, which gives it a somewhat “gong” sound even though you can’t really tell because the camera didn’t pick it up well. The bass drum is loosened and the snare drum is tightened as much as i could get it to go, although I don’t use the snare in this specific cover. I use a Tama Imperialstar set with Meinl symbals. I used a Flip Mino video camera to record. In this video, I use SD-1 General Vic Firth sticks. At 3:01, I mess up with the cymbal to toms transition. Some of these parts are improv, so that may be why some of the bits seem out of place. After watching this, I realized that I need to improve the chorus and not just repeat the intro, even though repeating that didn’t seem that bad. I am currently working on The Blister Exists and Wait and Bleed. Also, I plan to make original covers for other bands like The Offspring, Linkin Park, Cage The Elephant, and Marilyn Manson. I am in a band where I play custom percussion and do backing/lead vocals (sometimes lead), so I’ll upload some of the custom percussion parts for our songs. Please, all comments are welcome! Good or bad, I’d like all the help I could get! Share with your friends and Like! Thanks!
